April 30, 2010 - Legal Education at Sheepshead Bay

Take a look at what Common Law has been up to this week! In keeping with our mission to make the law more accessible for everyone, we were in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn providing legal education workshops for young people and adults.

Common Law, along with Councilman Michael Nelson and New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), completed a series of know-your-rights workshops at a community center in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. These workshops provided an overview of the criminal justice system and valuable know-your-rights training. These workshops were geared towards young people and adults who are interested in the rights we have when questioned, stopped, and/or searched by police officers.
